Jurassic World Experience
July 4th, 2021
For the Fourth of July, my family and I decided to go to the Jurassic World Experience. Having always been fans of the franchise, we thought it would be fun to take our own little trip to the infamous Isla Nublar. The experience hopes to bring people into the films through animatronic dinosaurs, fake ferry rides, and even a dinosaur ‘escaping’ its habitat.
When you step into the experience, you are brought aboard a ferry that will take you to the island. This was the same island where a T-Rex ate a couple of people, Jeff Goldblum had his famous shirtless scene, and researchers learned how intelligent raptors really are. However, the cheerful workers assured everyone on the tour that the island is now totally safe.
Once off the ferry, we were escorted through the iconic main gate and greeted by a large friendly Brachiosaurus. After watching the massive dinosaur roar and shake its head around, we moved onto the creation lab. The lab was like the movie and even contained items like mosquitoes encased in amber, dinosaur eggs, and dino babies in the incubator.
The next part of the tour went to the most feared section, the velociraptors. They led us behind a gate as Blue, the raptor from the movie, was guided out by her handler. The handler made sure she didn’t eat any of the children as Blue was walked around the cage. It was really cool to see the dinosaurs brought to life right in front of us.
And, of course, you can’t go to Jurassic World without seeing their pièce de résistance, the Indominus Rex. To make sure everyone gets to see the giant dinosaur, they hung a piece of meat to lure it into the open. The ground rumbled as the dinosaur grew closer. Suddenly, it leaped out and grabbed the meat with violent intensity.
After escaping the Indominus Rex, the guides took us towards the exit as our tour was ending. However, alarms started blaring, and the guides frantically gathered us by the electric fence. As everyone quieted down, the sound of heavy footsteps could be heard. The footsteps started slowly, but they got louder and louder as the seconds drew on. Suddenly, a massive T-Rex appeared as if it was running towards us. It knocked over a light post as the guides opened the gate and told everyone to run out. Thankfully, the guides were terrific at getting mostly everyone out and to a safe location. But then again, it wouldn’t be Jurassic park if it was totally safe.
All in all, it was a wonderful experience, and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a fun adventure.
Always busy,
Samantha Hartman
